In monographies, collections and popular scientific books published by the Institute of Zoology the results of researches carried by the Institute are summarized and analyzed. All scientific investigations on which the was working from the date of its foundation are discussed.
The main themes are: biodiversity of animal world, ecology, evolution, systematics, parasitology, hydrobiology, mammalogy and etc.
The main periodical of the Institute of zoology is "Proceedings of the Institute of Zoology" where the articles of scientists of the Institute and other Georgian zoologists are collected. The first three volumes were published by Zoological Sector, then publication of this periodical was continued by Institute of Zoology till 1961 year.
Last years the publication of this periodical has been renewed.
